How long will dental implants last?

Not only do dental implants grow into the jawbone very well, but they are functional even after many years. They are as exposed to negative factors within the oral cavity as much as natural teeth. With poor oral hygiene inflammations occur as with natural teeth. Various diseases, such as Type 1 Diabetes, long use of corticosteroids or rheumatism can affect the lifespan of a dental implant.

What are veneers?

A veneer is a thin piece of porcelain which is bonded (glued) to the tooth.

How long will the veneers last?

They usually last up to 10 years or longer. Studies have shown that in 80% of cases they can last for even more than 15 years.

Will the veneers darken over time?

No,the veneers will not darken over time.

Do I need an implant for each missing tooth?

No. A stable dental implant can replace multiple teeth, but it also depends on the thickness, height and bone firmness of the patient. The important fact is in which part of the jawbone the implant is placed.

I am not satisfied with my central incisors. I want to put veneers on them. Do I need to put veneers on all the other teeth, that is, will it fit in with the rest of my teeth if I have a veneer on my central incisors only?

Depending on the condition of the remaining teeth. If the remaining teeth, primarily the lateral incisors, are esthetically satisfactory in terms of their shape, color and position, the dentist does not need to grind the remaining teeth and the difference will not be visible.
